THE DINOSAUR EGG

SYNOPSIS

The Dinosaur Egg is an open-minded and poetic exploration of Los Chopen, a group of visual artists with intellectual disabilities, which includes the director's mother and aunt. It is an opportunity to ask ourselves: What do I do with what the world expects of me?
DIRECTOR'S MOTIVATION

This documentary film is based on an intimate and personal motivation, but it is merely a bridge to explore our own abilities.
Los Chopen are a group of artists made up of 30 people with intellectual disabilities. One of them is my aunt, Pipi, who inspired my mother to create this group.
They paint, and their powerful, vibrant, and vital work revolutionizes our perspective, inevitably causing us to question our habits, customs, norms, systems of representation and production, even artistic production.

When a person with a disability manages to change their attitude toward others in relation to what they can do, their potential, and in this case, their great creative and artistic capacity, a shift occurs in their perspective, perception, and connection with others, resulting in a very positive paradigm shift. This shift occurs not only in their family and immediate surroundings but in society as a whole.
This documentary film seeks to lead the viewer toward a sensorial and aesthetic rediscovery, but also to challenge them.
